Overnight Camping Trip
Tired of all the commercial stuff? Cape Reinga Adventures offers you camping in paradise. It isn't dolled up or artificial crap. We’re real and have put together the ultimate Cape Reinga tour available! Meet the locals, peddle the 3rd cleanest harbour of the world, cook your self caught fish (we have a 90% catch rate for beginner fisher persons), sit back around the camp fire, visit the Far North's highlights and simply enjoy.
This exciting trip starts about 1pm (no later) at the Parengarenga Harbour, where a basic lunch is provided (sandwiches, smoked fish, spreads, fruit). We kayak the turquoise waters at 2pm, peddling to the purest, whitest sand imaginable. Then it’s time to try your luck at catching dinner. We take a walk around Silica Beach and often watch wild horses grazing along the shoreline. There are no words to describe the beauty of this place, except for maybe ‘unbelievable’. Back at the camp we cook our fish and serve it with salads and sausages (for the unlucky one). Our camp site is way to cool for mozzies, so they won't bother you. To end the day we can do some sing-a-longs, but if you're up for it we might as well go for a night paddle of catch some big one!
The next morning we rise at sparrows fart to have breakfast and make our lunches. We depart from the campsite by 8.30am and arrive at Cape Reinga 9.30ish. We are there before the crowds to see how the two waters battle and experience the spiritual ness of this place. Simply breathtaking. We leave the Cape for the thrill of riding NZ’s largest sand dunes at 10.30am. We know every slope from Big Bertha (adrenalin seekers) to Gentle Annie (just right). You get to play, while we capture the best moments for your photo album. Dune surfing is suited for all ages and it’s wicked fun. The view of Ninety Mile Beach is amazing and Te Paki’s quick sand is not to be missed. It's an awesome environment in which you are guaranteed to have fun.
